NO TO FAKE NEWS. By signing the "Covenant to Stop Fake News", students and educators commit themselves and vow "to refrain from posting or sharing any bit of information that we have not verified to be accurate and truthful — and to have originated from reliable and responsible sources. This, even if such information may seem to confirm what we, or the larger segments of society, think, feel, or believe".|KIER LABRADOR

PPI, NAC engaged future communicators to #StopFakeNews

CLOSE to 200 participants from various schools in Baguio, Benguet, Abra, and Pangasinan attended the Scholastic Press Program of the Philippine Press Institute (PPI) and Nickel Asia Corporation (NAC) on “Let’s Get Real on Fake News” at the University of the Cordilleras in Baguio City, April 12.

Through the Scholastic Press Outreach Program, the PPI, also known as the national association of newspapers, and partners have occasionally engaged the academe for some of its media projects via forums and seminars.  This whole-day seminar on “Let’s Get Real on Fake News” is just one of these programs.

For this year, the same seminar will also be conducted at the Batangas State University in Batangas City (for South Luzon) on April 21, Bulacan State University in the City of Malolos (Central Luzon) on April 28, and at the Philippine Information Agency Central Office (for the National Capital Region) on May 9; and other areas in Visayas and Mindanao.|#BALIKASNews
